I have wanted to travel with horses ever since I was a little girl and now, after years of learning and preparation I will get to live out that dream. When I started this journey, I had very little horse experience but with hard work and dedication I’m ready to take on the National Trail with my two beautiful horses. By documenting this trip, I hope to inspire others to follow their dreams, no matter how wild or unachievable they may seem.

An ex-racing Standardbred who had quite a successful career before he retired. I bought this 16h gentle giant straight off the track when he was 7 and immediately set to work putting weight back on him and now he’s a happy, chunky boy. Dougie will be the pack horse of the trip, caring all our worldly possessions as he follows the love of his life Poppy along the National Trail.

My 7 year old pocket size Standardbred. At only 14.3h high, this pint size race horse never got her chance on the track. Not being cut out for racing she was sold on young and unbroken. When I got her she was skittish and didn’t like to be touched. Now she’s an absolute menace, getting into everything, demanding skritches and loves getting selfies with people. She will be the horse I ride on the trail, having trained her myself we have a good understanding of each other and work well together.

These absolute legends look after all the behind the scenes stuff while I’m away. They organise and post all purchased artworks, along with sending out all my resupply boxes and loading them up with anything I might need. I wouldn’t be able to do this without their continued support.
